The name Studio "K" refers to the constant change, the continuous training and creativity, the company's trademarks. It is a critical workshop that's experimenting in a community, building relationships, relentlessly searching for special conflicts and investigating with curiosity.
The great generation of Studio "K" toured the world. Today their considerable oeuvre is part of the curriculum. Former members are now founders of schools and theatres. Some actors of the second and third generation have also come to be defining personalities of contemporary Hungarian culture. The Studio provides a home for other ensembles as well, in its workshop it experiments with new genres and creative methods, while organising series of open seminars. Over half of the 160-170 performances they present each year are for children. The Saturday art workshops are also shaping the new audiences of the Nutcracker Story Theatre. This company, founded by members of Studio "K", produces a new show every year from the works of outstanding contemporary writers. Their shows are based on classic stories and are created with the company's special technique featuring puppets, actors and live music. Studio K has a growing number of regulars among its audience, while their quality-work has been awarded by the critics and the profession alike.
