Platform
This week we are opening registration for Hungarian theatre professionals. Our aim is to turn dunaPart into a forum of intensive dialogue between international theatre professionals and their Hungarian colleagues. This is why we also organise thematic talks and provide opportunities for informal meetings. Besides the nearly 30 participating artists and companies we also invite those who won’t have a production in the programme this time. Thus dunaPart will hopefully become a truly unique meeting point, where, on the weekend between the bustling IETM meeting in Zurich and the Cinars, our guests could spend a few relaxing days in each other’s company in a genuinely Central European atmosphere. We have received dozens of registrations so far and we look forward to receiving more here!
Program
You can find a detailed description of each production under schedule at www.dunapart.net. We hope this will help you choose the days, genres and performances. For those of you who have already registered we will send a personalized e-mail with the program table, in which you can mark the performances you are most interested to see. Your complimentary tickets for the chosen performances will be available to collect on your arrival.
Following are two more teasers:
3pm 16th November University of Drama and Film
Mother Courage is one of Brecht’s most representative plays. Its characters live on the road. The yard of the University of Drama and Film promised to be an ideal location. The jumps in time and space presented themselves naturally. There is an exciting tension in the meeting of a young actor and a character who’s much older. Because of their young age the actors don’t yet have much life experience, so their own personalities have a much more vivid effect. Still, the role and its interpretation are more clearly outlined than with an older actor, because routine doesn’t get in the way. There’s more freedom in their work and more courage in their scenic solutions.

6pm, 14th November, Sanyi and Aranka Theatre
BL is born out of Gergő Borlai’s percussion music, part composed, part improvised, and the dancer Andrea Ladányi’s movement and choreography. Music dance theatre.
