Platform

It is going to be the first opportunity in a long time for international theatre and dance professionals to see a comprehensive and representative showcase of independent Hungarian theatre and dance artists. Initiated and organised by Trafó and Krétakör and supported by the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Education, DunaPart offers a unique opportunity for you to gain a sensitive and timely impression of the present state of Hungary’s performing arts scene to find partners with whom you will find it worthy and possible to cooperate.

DunaPartplatform is a professional event. Our main objectives were to offer you the possibility of seeing as many performances as possible during your stay in Budapest, and to provide opportunities for direct professional feedback as well as informal meetings.

Our website, www.dunapart.net, is now in operation. We’re continuously updating information regarding the Platform, the Program and the Practical details and you can subscribe to our newsletter and register for the platform there as well.

Numerous international networks and the Hungarian Cultural Institutes are assisting us in drumming up guests, but since registration is individual we would also like to ask you to please forward our newsletter to those, who you think might be interested. Thank you!

Program

The official program is complete! We are currently finalising the performance times, but you can already see the daily breakdown of the participating artists here: www.dunapart.net. The final schedule will soon replace the preliminary program.

Based on the suggestions of our advisory council, by widening the scope of genres and geographical borders, we put together a very complex program: We will present some 25 performances within four days, mostly theatre and dance shows, but you will also have the chance to see numerous experiments which are crossing these borders. The performances will follow one another from Thursday afternoon until Sunday night. We also added a bonus day on the 17th (Monday), when those who are interested will have the chance to see the work-in-progress of the reorganised Krétakör Company.

We will be holding professional discussions during the late morning hours at the dunaPart club, where in the evenings you will have the chance to meet the participating artists while enjoying special music events.

We will also recommend you a selection of offprograms to broaden professional horizons.

Practical

DunaPart online registration will open at the end of the month on our website. It is both necessary and useful to register, so we ask you to do it as soon as possible, because only then can we provide you with an appropriate welcome. You will find further details in our next newsletter.

DunaPart offers you free entry to all performances, discount booking at our partner hotels, support for transport in the city and communal lunch every day at the club.

Please arrange your travel to and from Budapest yourselves and let us know the details when you register (time and place of arrival/departure).
